So in the spirit of my early Christmas morning need for caffeine–I’m giving away a $20.00 Starbucks gift card – IN ADDITION to Lia’s amazing #GRANDPRIZES

When my children were younger they started at 4. We got up around 5. We told them Santa doesn’t get to our house till 5 of 5 so they had to go back to bed. We all had naps on those days from getting up so early. But I really miss those days. Now its just my Husband and I we get to get up early now to Skype with all 5 of our grandchildren now and watch them open their gifts. Love it!!

Our household starts around 4am, even though we are older, there are no little kids running around it still feels like Christmas as when we were kids, my mom even is up by the time we are. We usually stay the night so we are already home! Very fun!

I don’t do anything special for the holidays since it’s just me and I have cats who destroy everything. I don’t think my 3 siblings or my father does anything either. None of us have kids.

My dad’s bday is Nov. 3rd, from that day forward we have bdays of all kinds until Dec 27th so we have a long holiday season with tons of Christmas celebrations mixed into the bdays and of course we then have New Year’s eve and I guess you could count Halloween since we usually have some kind of big bash. HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!

I’m lucky. My son doesn’t understand Christmas yet. He mostly just cares about the lights on the Christmas tree and he gets that all month. We get to sleep in on Christmas until whenever he decides to wake up, which is normally around 10am. I get my regular amount of sleep. 🙂

My children are grown now, but when they were younger, it would be very early Christmas morning, everyone still in pajamas. My husband used to tease them that there would be a five minute delay between opening gifts. Now, we start with Belgian waffles for breakfast and wait for the grandkids to arrive. =)

We start the weekend after Remembrance Day and try to finish all of the decorating before December 1st. I’m a little behind this year because both of my daughters are away at school so I’m trying to get everything done without my helpers.

Decorating started Thanksgiving weekend, and begging to open presents used to start at least a week before Christmas. The kids were always up by 6 to see what Santa left in their stockings. Now that they’re in college everything has been pushed back a bit.

My son stole presents from under the tree last year. Yes, he’s on Santa’s bad list. Sadly, I’m the one getting up pre-dawn shouting for everyone to get up. I simply can’t wait to see my children opening their presents. I’ve always loved Christmas and buying presents for my family. What fun! (Anybody know how to set up an alarm system around the tree?? LOL)
